Creating Content Variations with the Visual Editor

To create a variation, navigate to your website (the page you want to optimize) in Chrome and open the Keak extension. You’ll see a sidebar labeled “Welcome to Keak” with instructions. Now follow these steps to generate content variations:

  1. Select an element to optimize: Hover over any text or image on your webpage and double-click it. This action activates Keak’s editor for that element. For text, a bounding box will appear around the text, indicating it’s ready to be edited. For images, an image upload/selector interface will appear.

  2. Make an edit or generate a suggestion: With the element selected, you have two options to create a variation:

    • Manual edit: Simply type in new text or replace the image with another. For instance, you might rewrite a headline or swap out a hero image.

    • AI-generated variation: Click the “Generate Variation” button in the Keak toolbar to have the AI suggest an alternative for you. Keak’s model will use context from your page and learned data to propose a new version of the content (e.g., a different headline or tagline it predicts could perform better). You can click “Generate Variation” again to get another suggestion if the first idea isn’t to your liking.

  3. Lock in manual changes: If you made manual edits (typed your own text), click the blue-and-white checkmark that appears in the element’s bounding box to save that variation. This confirms to Keak that you want to include this new version in the test. (For AI-generated variations, this step isn’t needed – generated variations are added to the list automatically.)

You can repeat the above steps for multiple elements on the page if desired – Keak allows testing multiple changes at once. For example, you could generate variations for a headline, some body copy, and a call-to-action button all in one test. Each changed element will have its own set of variations listed in the Keak sidebar.

As you create variations, you’ll see all versions listed in the Keak toolbar/side panel for that element

The original content is labeled “Original,” and each new variant is numbered (Variation 1, Variation 2, etc.) as you generate them. Next to each variation, there is a “Test” button (and for the currently selected variation, a “Cancel” option to discard it if needed).
